Dissertation Evaluation: I will read your dissertation manuscript in its most current form, and respond with a combination of notes and suggestions on the draft itself as well as with a memo summarizing and expanding on questions and recommendations for revision, then we will meet to discuss priorities and plans for revising and developing a book manuscript. Developmental Editing: Editing focused on concerns such as argumentation, key concepts, and structure, alongside conversations about timeline, research, and project management. Working together to plan, write, and publish a book you're excited about. Book Proposal + 2 Chapters: Drafting and revising a book proposal and two sample chapters to submit for review with an academic press. This involves multiple drafts and rounds of edits and revisions as well as guidance on how to navigate the academic published process. Line Editing: Editing your draft with attention to voice, clarity, flow, and structure. Making sure your argument is coming through at all levels; that you're engaging with primary and secondary sources in due proportion; and that the structure of your book reflects and serves its argument. Copy Editing: Making corrections and suggestions for grammar, usage, style, clarity, and style guide compliance, as well as word choice, repetition, flow, accessibility, and structure. Writing Coaching: A (flexible) combination of accountability, planning, consulting about publication decisions and timelines, and fitting in writing around other professional responsibilities and personal obligations and wellbeing.
